MamaLita is a faith-based organisation working across Africa to help people, communities and grassroots organisations build sustainable futures.
We begin with one simple question:
What is your dream?
Sometimes the answer is clean water. A classroom. Toilets. A small kitchen. A business. University fees. A Bible in someone’s own language. A laptop, a camera or a piece of equipment. Support for an elderly person. Encouragement for a farmer. A safe place for children. Or simply someone willing to walk alongside them.
MamaLita listens, takes hands with local people and helps unlock what is missing — while keeping the people themselves at the centre of the solution.
We do not want to be needed forever.
Our goal is not dependency.
We walk alongside local people, community leaders, farmers, teachers, churches, caregivers and grassroots organisations. We help strengthen what is already in their hands so that, in time, they can continue without ongoing financial dependence on MamaLita.
But independence does not mean abandonment.
Financial support may reduce or end when people can stand on their own feet, but relationship, prayer, spiritual encouragement and emotional support do not simply disappear. We keep walking with people.
Where we walk
From farming communities in South Africa and Namibia to a school in Zambia, women in Malawi, children in Uganda and communities in Tanzania, MamaLita works through trusted relationships.
Every place is different. The principle is the same: listen, build trust, enable, empower and help create something that lasts.
Hope for the whole person
We believe people are more than one need.
MamaLita may respond through food, clean water, education, healthcare, mental and emotional support, sustainable livelihoods, practical equipment, Bible distribution, spiritual encouragement or simply being present in a difficult season.
We want people to be uplifted and empowered — body, mind and spirit.
